Why These Boots Got Me Off the Couch: Hoka Kaha 3 GTX Review
I’m in my 40's, working full-time in tech, and like a lot of remote workers, I spend most of my day sitting. I have a standing desk, but let’s be real, I don’t use it enough. Most of my movement is just walking from my desk to the kitchen and then to the couch.
At some point, I realized I wasn’t feeling great. Not in a dramatic way, just kind of tired, stiff, and disconnected. I knew I needed to start doing something simple and consistent, like walking. Nothing intense, just getting outside more, moving my body, clearing my head.
That’s when I started looking for better shoes. I’d tried running shoes and basic hiking boots in the past, but they either hurt my feet or didn’t hold up. After doing some research, I found the Hoka Kaha 3 GTX, and I haven’t looked back since.
These boots are incredibly comfortable, super cushioned, and still feel sturdy. They’re waterproof, which is great for unexpected weather, and they don’t feel clunky at all.
If you're trying to get outside more and want footwear that doesn’t fight you, these are definitely worth a look.
What I like:
✓ Comfortable for long walks
✓ Great cushioning without feeling bulky
✓ Waterproof (huge bonus)
✓ No foot pain even after several miles
What to know:
• They run warm — probably not ideal for super hot climates
• Break-in time was minimal, but I still wore them around the house first
